This workshop offers a contemporary approach to Indian classical dance (bharata natyam): Moving to an eclectic mix of Indian music, we begin with a yoga-based warm-up, followed by basic exercises of bharata natyam, traveling steps, and a dance combination. We’ll focus on principles of this form, including its sculpturesque body lines and rhythmic footwork.

Studio opens 15 minutes prior to class. Please arrive a few minutes early to sign in/change. Attire: Comfortable exercise pants, close-fitting shirt.
