Parijat Desai Dance Company brings three works showcasing Desai's distinctive blend of bharata natyam with modern dance, yoga, and martial arts: | The Wall, based on a generations-old women’s tale | the NY premiere of Malaysia, to electronic music by composer Vijay Iyer and others | and, danced to a live contemporary score of rhythmic jatis and evocative ragas, Quiet/Fire, in which performers become warriors-in-training battling external and internal adversaries.
