Parijat Desai Dance Company performs
an elegant and exciting blend of bharata natyam, modern dance, and yoga.
Working at the intersections between movement techniques, choreographer
Desai evolves a South Asian American aesthetic while exploring themes of
spirituality, struggle, and transformation. Critics have described their
performances as "matching technical sophistication with thematic relevance"
(Los Angeles Times) and as a "tensely fluid...unusual fusion"
(Dance Magazine). Popular with community audiences as well, their
